Hi! I’m Huyen.

I have 9 plus years of experience across product and user research where I specialize in working with agile startups or social businesses in the connected economy space.

I’m fascinated with how technology is shaping the connected economy and the future of work.

Present

I am currently based in Portland, OR.

I currently work for a software development firm as a UX researcher where I apply my research expertise to help client, product designers, engineers, and stakeholders understand the mental model and goals of their users.

I’m also volunteering at a research and technology non-profit to scale it’s user experience research process and team to leverage technology and efficiently distribute food and resources.

Outside of business hours, I am also a research consultant for small startups and social organizations that needs to become more mature in UX.

When I am not working you can find me learning foreign languages like Turkish and Russian. Or out and about hiking mountains and waterfalls and engaged in landscape photography.

Past

For the past six years, through Courier Hacker, I’ve been advocating for a better user experience for gig workers of the gig economy through independent user research and content strategy. I also form marketing partnerships with and provide product consultation for brands looking to introduce new digital experiences into the emerging gig economy.

I led growth for an Instagram for quotes app, Quotiful.

I also helped a startup create digital experiences for young athletes and launch the first protein bar formulated for young athletes at Zeek.

Before that, I managed a biotech lab working in R&D to help commercialize a new blood test.

While in college, my twin brother and I started a company to save rhinos from extinction in the wild.

Before I developed the entrepreneurial spirit, I have supported several psychology research labs. My first role was scaring kids for the University of Oregon’s psychology department as “the Stranger”.

Future

I’d love to start a non-profit someday to help wildlife conservation or disadvantaged populations.
